The 23. Panzer-Division portray the 1. Fallschirmjäger-Division and participates in the battle of Monte Cassino on the Italian peninsula in 1944. The Battle of Monte Cassino was a defensive battle for the combined German and Italian forces holding the surface area stretching across the mountainous terrain. After the battle at the abbey the 23. Panzer-Division now is re enacting the defensive actions kilometers away defending the road towards Rome as Canadian forces begin to march upon the Germans.
